Open all day, the bar serves a selection of real ales and cider, some of which are brewed by our on site brewery 'Leatherbritches'. This is a small traditional craft brewery that was the original idea of our youngest son Bill who took over the old wash house and coal store to build a traditional craft brewery in 1993.It is now the business of our second son Edward.

The bar is also well stocked with lagers, bottled beers, spirits and liqueurs. We always have a selection of single malt whiskies and some very special old brandies. We also sell a very special 'Scrumpi' cider that is made by an Italian wine maker in Batley, Yorkshire.

Between 12 noon and 9.30.pm delicious food is offered on our comprehensive menu. This includes a selection of nourishing  soups, sandwiches and baguettes, first courses and small savoury dishes, brassiere style meals complete, and A la Carte style meals from the Innkeeper's Table section served with prepared dishes of freshly cooked fresh vegetables.  During the summer informal meals can be taken on the terrace where there are occasional barbecues, and for special events, a whole hog is roasted.

Children accompanied by their parents or a responsible adult are allowed to eat in the bar area.

Outside there is plenty of room for children to play in safety. 

In the winter the central open log fire brings warmth to those dark evenings. Dominoes, card, Jenga, chess and other board games are available from the bar.
